WE CALL UPON responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.
Some practical ways that you can "promote" measures that will maintain and strengthen the family are to do family home evening every week, attend church every Sunday and church activities, you can also do family scripture study together along with family prayer every night.
Some things that I learned from the video are
1.) When others disagree with not only your opinion but what you live by, your religion. It's really hard to understand where they are coming from. It's hard to not want to yell at them and make them understand your religion. You can't argue or force the gospel on anyone.
2.) I think as members we think we know how to get our point of the gospel across to anybody. We often become absorbed with being right and that's a human thing, but we can become calm and collected when we do it through Christ's love. Often times it's hard, that is why I found it very strong of Samantha to go to her Bishop for help on how to go through with the discussion.
3.) I found it interesting to see how Samantha handled the discussion at the end. I feel as if Miki (anybody you talk to about the gospel) was actually more calm than anyone I have ever interacted with in the past. I find it difficult to discuss the church's stance on certain subjects. I don't want to come across as a know it all or even someone who doesn't know much about the religion I am practicing. I hope that my future experiences will turn out like Samantha's. She was calm and seemed to talk as if Christ was right next to her, talking her through it.
